Arpa Paraguaya - The Music, The Masters
Amazing video.
Chuck Berry is credited as a writer of Surfin USA
I think Brian was a cutie patootie. I would have gone after him over Dennis.
to be fair if it weren't for Landy, Brian would 100% be dead.
According to Isaac directly, a lot of your facts are just wrong. He says it started as he and Jeremiah, Eric came later. And I thought they were only nominated (multiple times), but haven't won a Grammy. Pretty sure about that, as Isaac has said it several times that I've heard.
I believe it was 97 and MM played two shows in Chicago on the same night across town from each other. An early show at Schubas and a later show at Empty Bottle. Both shows were amazing. Golden years.
I never saw SpongeBob. I did see Tiny Tim's performances on television and I had his records (still do).
Demonic..
I’m surprised to know that The Man Who Wasn’t There wasn’t and Fargo by the Coen Brothers weren’t even included in this video! In my opinion, I consider them also to be part of the neo-noir spectrum and both are great films as well!
I heard an interview where he attributed Pet Sounds and Smile to drugs. I think his genius is attributed to much more than drugs. His genius is a gift that very few people have, and even fewer utilize.
My favorite band of all time.
Nice video 👍
Very interesting. Thanks for posting.
These videos have got me back into modest mouse from all the way back since 2012 when I was teenager, I listened to them so much I didn’t like them anymore like remember playing them so much and being obsessed with their style of music, that never really happened to me before now I’m 30 Years old. Honestly Isaac is one of those real meaningful musicians in my life he has made his impact in some way or another
So wish Buddy Holly would of lived
They suck the life right out of you if you let them.
Does this parallel the movement to make G-MEN look good to help propagandaize and turn the public opinion away from praising gangsters and such
Modest mouse is like a post punk post rock kind of band with philosophical and cynical lyrics about life
I love modest mouse regardless.. I see every show I can when they come through Missoula MT and the song A Different City brought me here. I heard that song and moved out here in a month. They're amazing 🤩
dam
Anybody know the song that starts shortly after 5:32?
This was very informative and giving. Thank you!
I've come back so many times to watch this video again and again. Great work!
I wanna here those homemade tapes!
I would have loved to have know him
I can almost hear what you’re saying turn up the background music
That music at the start was so horrible please turn it down
Tiny Tim King for the Day a feature length documentary ( on YT) is well worth seeing. There is a colossal biography Eternal Troubadour by Justin Martell. This guy is a misunderstood genius.
What is that song at the end?! It’s beautiful!
i think its i feel so fine from thr cοcaine seesions
Sucks that cigarettes ruined that voice
Mozart was a genius. This guy made silly pop songs.
Kinda misses the boat by omitting any mention of how many of the technical, psychological, even sociological influences on film noir came from WWII and its aftermath.
They had 2 drummers when I saw with built to spill, before good news, I think
I saw Tiny Tim at Spookyworld in 1994, back when I was 8. He was playing in literal pajamas to the crowd just kinda walking by, and my mom had to explain who he was to me and my best friend. I did not appreciate it at all at the time
Great video - i Loved it♥
I love him with all my heart and love
Brian Wilson was genius of Copy Cat from the Every Other Artist's Ideas. if he is genius, i ll be Geniuses of Genius.
You don’t have to like the boys, to respect them…the beach boys had some of the sweetest most catchy harmonies in the history of music.
Even though some people might think he is gimmicky. I think he was wildly talented and a very genuine person.
This is so important for me. Modest mouse was a mythical beast that I only ever heard stories about living in Atlanta in the 90s. I didn’t have the internet or money or a car to get to shows or even the knowledge of when shows were happening. So when I got a bootleg or someone told me something interesting about the band I would just clamor on and on. I hear the first few notes to the lonesome crowded west and I still feel my heart race. Thank you for showing me the way things were for them. I was pretty much on another planet begging for info in my youth.
6:58 First time a theremin used in a rock song?! Get serious!!

What's the movie at 2:23?
Not sure if L A Noir is the last film noir, or, the last, “great,” film noir? But it’s certainly the movie that raised my hopes for a noir revival that never fully arrived. And it did have the full ingredients.
There’s a clear and obvious link between Joker and Taxi Drive, but it’s just as indebted to King Of Comedy . . . also Scorsese. There’s nods to both and no attempt to disguise the inspiration of the source material. It’s more a retelling of Taxi Driver for our age. And it’s all the more poignant that the central themes and message of the movie bear repetition today.
2:32 Nope, not the consumption of alcohol was illegal, but the production and selling of alcohol. Its a common missconception about prohibition.
Beach boys had a great run from 61 until 67
So many people are missing out
Hate to break it to you @Jeffrey Stillwell, those aren't triplets @ around 2:00 (neither in what he's playing or singing). More like odd-meter phrases (ie, mixing duples and triples).
The beach boys loves you is a very strange yet nice album
